Month 2
June 16th Ava turned 1 month old!
And on July 12th Ava was baptised:
It was in this next month that we set out on the big "Ava Tour." Starting out by driving to Iowa (an adventure in itself!) and then flying to Arizona.
And on July 12th Ava was baptised:
The first month
As I am sure all new moms will tell you, the first month was a blur... Bob and I had little sleep and so much to learn! I healed up quickly, and Ava started to grow. We had many visitors that first month; Renee, Ali, Jenny and my Mom and Dad. Taylor also arrived for the summer.
I have SOOOO many photos, so here are just a few more of my favorites from the 1st month:
On day 7 Ava began her 12 week stint in a Pavlic Harness to fix her hip dysplasia. She went in every week for a bath and an adjustment... she loved being out of the harness for that one hour!
The last 4 months
My o'my have I been slacking on this blog!! I guess I do have an excuse, but it seems as though all of my friends kept up on their blogs with a new baby... Well, I am going to attempt in these next few days to update you all with pictures and videos of Ava's first 4 months of life... and then I'll try my hardest to keep this page current! So, lets begin:
As I am sure you all know, on Monday, May 16th I went for my 39 week check-up at 10am... upon noticing a small little butt in the ultrasound where the head should have been, my C-Section was scheduled for 5pm that day- what a surprise!! Bob and I moved parking lots to the hospital and I called my mom to tell her the good news, but just bawled instead! Bob let her know that both baby and I were healthy but in shock... and after a few hours of bawling, I settled into my hospital bed and waited FOREVER for the clock to strike 5pm. Running a little late, they took me into the operating room about 5:30 and at 5:56 baby Ava was born!!
We all laughed in response to the head of BLACK hair... in fact I have footage of that:
And just for you Grandma S. here she is exersizing her little lungs :)
And from there we spent 3 days in the hospital. Mom and Dad were there most of the time, and Josh and Nikki visited. We also got a chance to Skype with all of Bob's family. It was a fast 3 days!

24 week baby bump
I guess I didn't realize until I just uploaded this photo how big I've gotten! This is what everyone else is seeing... I keep getting comments at work that I've "gotten so big." I guess I have! I still have 3 months to go, I'm gonna stick out like 2 feet! O'well, it will all come off, right ?!?!?

Baby Names
Well, we've made our first pick and want your input... not that we might change our minds :)
Ava Kinsley Border
What do you all think? Our thoughts behind this:
Ava, who couldn't love that name. It's classic, beautiful and timeless. Unless you just dis-like the name in general, I can't see why anyone would oppose that name! Plus, and my dad would point out, she'll be the first in her class to write her name, nothing difficult there!
Kinsley, just something trendy to tag onto that classic first name. Bob really wants our kids to have a "cool name" option if they choose to make it their first. We picked it because it isn't one of the top 100 trendy names of the past years, and if she is a trendy, cool girl, she can set herself apart with this name.
Give us your feedback! Like I said, we most likely won't change our minds, but just maybe...
